People generally don’t think too much of a horse that was used for a kid’s camp, but the horse we lost this morning was irreplaceable and priceless. Rummy was the kind of horse who would head right to her spot in the arena after she was saddled…with or without you. Nothing spooked her, she was never crabby, and even after years of kids who were a little rough on her mouth, she was soft and responsive. This was the horse who slipped her bridle on a trail ride, and nobody noticed for twenty minutes because she didn’t put one foot out of place. Many times she was the horse we put a terrified child on, and they were smiling and laughing by the end of the ride. She was absolutely the sweetest mare around, and she will be so missed by everyone.
